I think you're better off with the 970. I'd only recommend the 760 in SLI if you already have one and are looking to buy another (assuming PSU doesn't need to be upgraded, too). I wouldn't go out and buy two GTX 760s outright just to put in SLI... that's more of a pick one up now, pick up another one down the road situation.

In addition, the 970 gives you the latest features, the option to add a 2nd 970 down the road, and not all games support SLI properly anyway. Always go for the single card, all else being equal.
