The 7850K is in the same class as the 5800K and Athlon X4 750/760 for gaming: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html
You're about at the top of the food chain now with the FM2/FM2+ socket. At least with the current crop of AMD APUs and CPUs that are available at present. The GTX 970 will work fine with the current setup you have. You'll just not get the max potential out of the card. I would estimate that something like the GTX 760 or R9-270X would be the max cards that would not be bottlenecked by that system.

haha. no. certainly not 'top of the food chain'. Are you completely unaware of the am3+ socket? that's the top, and will be plenty for a 970. yes you will be able to run a 970 with a 7850k but it will not be optomized and will perform very poorly. (bottlenecking will occur) honestly if you have an APU, ghetting aGPU of that tier should be the last priority you have. upgrade cpu first.

Apparently you don't read well. I said top of the food chain for the FM2/FM2+ socket. The OP obviously can not use AM3+ processors with his board.

well i need to spend $200 on a cpu and at the time i bought my computer as a barebones kit. I am short money and because of the worse graphics for my budget, i didn't go for an i5 or a 8350

do you currently have a stand alone GPU? or just the APU?

My recomendation, and the easiest way around this, would be to keep what you have now, and save for a cpu, gpu and mobo. the 970 would do horrible with that apu. you'd be lucky to get all of a 750 with that.
