First custom PC Help

I am going to build my first custom PC and i need some advice.
Are the parts compatible and should I maybe upgrade something?

CPU: Intel core i5 4670
Mobo: msi z97 PC mate
GPU: Sapphire radeon r9 280X
Ram: Cruciale Ballistix sport 8gb
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
Case: Thermaltake V4
PSU: XFX pro 550W

Looks good but in my opinion I'd try and get the (k) series of that cpu and a cpu cooler, even if you don't plan to overclock. When selling the (k) is a good selling point. Hasswell is very hot

Ok, thanks for the fast response. I chose thuis CPU just because i can het it for really cheap. And which cooler would you recommend?

evo 212 or one that uses a back plate and metal locking screws.

You can always use pcpartpicker.com and plug your parts in there. It'll let you know if all of them are compatible or not.

Yeah the Hyper 212 Evo is a great cooler, I myself have a few in various builds.

if you can get the 4690 for the same price it has better tim paste then the older 4600 chips.
