Hey guys I have a Toshiba x70 gaming laptop, 4700mq i7, 12gb ram, 240gb ssd, and a gtx 770m, I'm at a loss on what to do, problem is I'm poor as shit this is the third laptop IN A ROW I've bought that has had issues, last 2 went out after warranty, but I'm still under warranty with this one.

The issue is while playing games it randomly shuts off, sometimes it will shut off 3-4 times a day, sometimes not until a week has passed, I use a lot of monitoring programs, and my gpu stays below 80 c, and everything seems well, but since I don't have enough for a new laptop I have no idea what to do besides send it in.

But how are they going to be able to diagnose it with it being so unpredictable in nature, last time I had a similar issue I was without a laptop for 3 months and they couldn't figure it out so I just bought a new one.

So I guess the main question is how would I be able to diagnose the issue myself, so I can send it end with enough info to make sure I get it repaired, why is the issue so random? I know it's probably a toast gpu since I've refreshed my pc, tried a different hard drive, and other diagnostic methods, but nothing makes a difference... I just don't know what to do... im honestly just about to fry the gpu with a heatgun and hope they put a new one in...

Do you use a cooling pad? (example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...)

The gaming laptops get pretty hot, and the cooling pad will help.

Yes I do, that's how I keep it at 80c, It was at 96c before I got the cooling pad, and that is most likely what fried it.

Have you thought about going with a desktop PC? You have more GPU/CPU options and there are better cooling options. If you are stressing the laptops that much, I would suggest going with a desktop PC.

The issue with a desktop is I don't really have any where to sit one, my room is pretty small and I game on my bed, if there were a way to sit everything on my lap somehow I would do it, but I've been gaming like this for awhile... I was thinking about using like a platter and sitting the monitor, wireless keyboard, and a wireless mouse on it, but idk..

Also, do you know of any way to diagnose this kind of issue, I keep looking in the event viewer, and all I see is an error that basically is there because the computer shuts off, but I don't see anything else that would be helpful, Do you know of any programs? I've used furmark, but it doesn't have memory diagnostics so it's not very helpful.

I'm at a loss on what to do :/

You can mount the monitor to the wall with this: http://www.wayfair.com/Mount-it-Dual-Articulating-Arm-T...

Use a wireless keyboard/mouse and you are in business....

That's a damn good idea, I think that's what I'll do, Ill just sale my laptop and buy a desktop with the money I get, thanks bro.
