Hi, I have an 250mb/s Internet connection with the correct accompanying Ethernet cables and router. Had this connection on my previous PC and now I built a completely new one that's around five times as better if not more. However, my broadband on it is suddenly limited upon plugging it in to 100mb/s as opposed to the 250mb/s on my previous one. So to clarify, it worked before this new pc which is up to date on all drivers

The motherboard is MSI Global X99S Gaming 9 AC http://www.msi.com/product/mb/X99S-GAMING-9-AC.html#her...

It features an "Killer Ethernet: Kill Your Lag" which has some sort of network settings, but tweaking em around to 100/250mb and disabling or enabling has no difference at all. Any tips on how I could get back my 250mb/s would be greatly appreciated! I use Ethernet cable only naturally.

The only thing missing in my device manager is an network controller which is the wifi/wireless component that I'm not really interested in due to Ethernet cable.

In all likelihood, you Ethernet port on your PC is limited to the 100 speed. I would look for the driver that would get you to Gigabit speeds.

It's an "Killer E2205 Gigabit LAN controller" port so should be no problem, I however noticed that on device manager it is named "Killer e2200 Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30)"

I have been unable to find any other driver or anything specifically E2205, so I doubt its the router as I used my install disks then went with MSI live update 6. The local area connection states the speed is 1.0 Gbps but in reality it refuses to reach 100 mb/s or anything above.

I have resolved it, turns out my Ethernet led button was orange on the router and a simple reset turned it back green and fixed my internet speed.
