I want to get some RAM soon but my motherboard supports up to 1066MHz but it says in the manual that it will support 1333 and 1600 in overclock. If I buy some RAM with a frequency of 1600MHz and decide not to overclock or cannot figure out how will it still run okay (just at 1066)? because I don't want to buy it absolutely wont function unless I do the overlock

Well my motherboard is an MSI x58 Pro-E and according to the official site: http://uk.msi.com/product/mb/X58_ProE.html#hero-specification it supports both 1333MHz and 1600MHz in overclock however I looked in my BIOS which is American Megatrends and the frequency which stated 1066MHz is greyed out and not changeable so I changed the memory ratio from auto to a number (think it was 3 - don't know what I'm doing here) and the memory frequency changed its self to 1333MHz but when I saved it my computer went on and off 3 times before finally coming back on with a message saying overclock failed - reverted back to previous BIOS settings
