Hello All,
Im looking to build my first gaming PC. My budget is $500. I've put together something but I wanted to get the communities opinion on this build. I want to be able to play games like Skyrim with mods. It doesn't have to be on ultra settings but I'd like to at least get as high as I can (obviously). Any advice or recommendations you could through at me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Noted, thank you. With your recommendations, would this system be easy to upgrade

Any system is easy to upgrade. All it takes is money. An i3 build will be easier and have a better upgrade path than AMD. The PSU I recommend is not really a suggestion as much as it is a requirement. I STRONGLY recommend an i3 over the 6300 for skyrim. The i3 will deliver almost DOUBLE the performance. Some other games are like this too, like Farcry 3. An i3 beats even an overclocked 8350 in both those games. Of course there are games where the performance of an i3 and 6300 is even though.

Sounds good as Skyrim is the game being played the most. Do you know if the i3 is compatible with my other selected components?

Did a little research. You will be able to play skyrim. You will not break the bank as far as FPS, But you will get decent gameplay. I believe that money is the matter in your case. It is something people like to do is spend your money when it is tight.
Of course if it is not then that is a different story.

great video. Thank you for sharing. it does give me some food for thought. He did say however that some games perform better with i3 and vice versa. Im just wondering if skyrim is one of them.

I'm not sure how that was supposed to change anybody's mind, the i3 won in 2/3 games and again is not a old arch on a dead end platform. A year from now he could throw an i5 or i7 in the same computer and basically revitalize it.

100% agree. The i3 is certainly the way to go.

Where you will also benefit is in things other than gaming. Yes the I3 because of its single core performance will as the speaker said beat the 6350 and 6300 in some games. There is no evidence or anything like a 2 to 1 Framerate ratio as someone stated. You get a few more fps with the I3, but the better choice if money maters now is the 6300 or the 6350 if you can afford to include it.
here is a deal on an FX6350
