Hi,

I am looking for a good gaming system for under $1000, it can be pre-built or not. I have one option already available (see link) for a pre-built gaming PC. I will need an OS though.
NOTE: I AM LIVING IN CANADA.
So what are some suggestions? Any help will be much appreciated as I want to start ordering parts or order the PC by tomorrow.
This is the option I have found so far

Thank you in advance!

Looking at the specs, it lists an amd 760G motherboard chipset. That does not support intel cpu's. Something is amiss.
I would also want to know the specific brand/model of the psu. 500w is ok, but not with a cheap psu.

With your budget, a i5-4460 or similar paired with a GTX760 is appropriate.
(budget 2x the cpu cost for the graphics card).

Take some time to put together a list from where you might buy.
Think about a case that appeals to you; you will be looking at it for a long time.

Lastly,
I will never again build without a ssd for the "C" drive. It makes everything you do much quicker.
120gb is minimum, it will hold the os and a handful of games. If you can go 240gb, you may never need a hard drive.
I don't.
I would defer on the hard drive unless you need to store large files such as video's.
It is easy to add a hard drive later.
Samsung EVO is a good choice.
Intel is OK too.

I do have a question, do you think the motherboard is suffering in this build? As well what is NCIX I have never heard of them... are they reliable? :p

My rule of thumb is that your motherboard should be 10-12% of your build's cost. This motherboard is just fine and NCIX is definitely one of the best if not the best retailer for computer parts in Canada.

Do you think that it would be worth breaking the bank to fit in the 970 with the OS?
Also I am living on the east coast so :p

I generally like your build
http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/ptrickono/saved/WJcgXL

I think you can save about $100 on a more modest motherboard and buying a separate wifi card.
http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-z97p...

There is very little performance difference in using a EVGA GTX760 card
http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-video-card-02gp427...
This month, a GTX960 is rumored; Wait if you can for that.

Seasonic is a great psu. Gold rating is not that useful for the price premium.
Look at a stronger and cheaper 620w unit:
http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-s...

Lastly... Love the ssd. do not change that out.

If you live near a microcenter, they have some very good deals if you can walk in.

I HIGHLY suggest investing in a 970. Amazing performance/cost ratio. Twice the VRAM, lower power consumption, lower heat output and better directx compatibility. Tell me the budget for the 970 and I will tell you which is best :)  I went trough the process of buying a 970 in Canada and I ended up with the 970 STRIX which is about 300 units back-ordered at NCIX. (Only sold at NCIX and New Egg in Canada right now).. If I were you I would pre-order the STRIX. Cheapest 970 is $370
