I am research Intel motherboard with XMP support.

I have PNY 2 x 4GB DDR3-2133 with Intel XMP support.

I am planning to give my current AMD A10-7850k and A88X motherboard to my second son after I buy Intel i7-4790k CPU and motherboard real soon... Around October 31.

So, I plan to take out of RAM memory from AMD then install on Intel motherboard. I really like MSI's Intel motherboard

But I cannot find answer about this motherboard offer XMP support. Is this motherboard offer XMP support under bios? Which it allow choice enable or disable XMP. If enable it, it will run DDR3-2133 instead of DDR3-1600. Is there any possible? Similar to AMD's motherboard did.

almost forget to add one more question, I understand that Intel i7-4790k is new chip... Does MSI Z97 GAMING 5 board support it? I did look it up on msi's website but there are no update currently.

Do you have any advise? I am open mind to listen anyone lol.

Look forward to heard from anyone,
Thank you

Solution
Yes, all current Intel mobos support XMP, it's been integral to Intel boards since it was introduced (by Intel of course ;) ) Also about 99+% of all DRAM supports XMP (1600 and up sticks - 1600 is the start point for XMP)

If I get motherboard with 1.1 or older version bios, Is there no way to update bios without run CPU on it? Because motherboard might not see new model CPU, Am I wrong? I just wonder. I built pc for over 15 years which this sitaution never happen to me lol. This will be very interesting to learn something. I hope not get motherboard with older version when I order it on newegg
