Dear geeks,

I was wanting to download the service pack for Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, but I have no clue what is what... I know I can do it through windows update, but i want to download it, so I don't have to redownload it every time. I have slow internet.

Here is the website?
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id...

What do all these things mean? And which one do I need to get? Thanks in advance!

Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 can be downloaded here: http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-...

They have the ISO - you can make a DVD and/or flash drive to install this.

This is a single install ISO - you won't have to install the service pack after installing Windows - it will cut down on the number of updates you have to perform after the original install.

Oh, so basically I would just install that through USB... and then use my key and it would work right away?
No stupid security updates or anything like that?

Another question.. is it recommended to keep your windows updated at all times. There is like 100000's of windows updates through windows update.

Most of the updates are security updates that keep your computer safe....it is always recommended to update the computer shortly after the updates come out. I usually wait 1-2 days to see if there are any issues.

sp1 is an update available thru windows update.if you dont have auto update turned on simply check for updates and it should show up.

Tried 3 times so far... all 3 times... 2Gb. I tried to use a download manager to restart the download where it ended, but it doesn't want to do that... So I'm guessing it's the website that limits me sadly. I'll try again though.

I tried it the first two times without the download manager.
Last time with download manager.

Every time it stops exactly at 2GB download.
