I noticed when i started my pc I wasn't getting the bios option so I tried to download the bio drives from asus but then my pc shut down and now it wont start, i click the power button and fans speed up like crazy but I only get a black screen no bios option. I have an old HP so I took my ram and hard drive and put it in my HP and it does the same thing.

pc specs to the best of my knowledge:
asus p6t deluxe motherboard
Intel i7 (1336 socket i think)
120 gig kingston ssd
750 gig seagate
two invidia gtx 480
6 gig corsair xms3 ddr3 ram
new 850 hx watt corsair power supply

that could be the case Plaintuts, I'm not 100% sure what p6t motherboard series i have since i lost the manual, but if it is how can i reset my motherboard? it has a power and reset button on the motherboard itself and i pressed it for a few second but it didn't change anything.

Ok I got the hard drive and Ram to wok on the hp so I know its not the ram or the ssd I also took out the battery from my asus motherboard in hopes of resetting everything but that didnt work turns on, and fans are normal now but still just getting a black screen.

ok went online found a manual and how to clear cmos i even did the little jumper thing with and without the battery like the manual suggested but nothing. I notice though that my keyboard and mouse dont have power. the manual suggested to hold the delete key till the bios start so i noticed the lights on my keyboard werent on so i plugged it in to my other pc and lights came on. I dont know if it could be a power thing i re plugged all the cables from the psu to the mobo and the power button along with the reset button on the mobo light up when i plug in the psu.

So after the cmos reset, there is no post just black screen?

Also the mouse and keyboard connected to a usb port is not powered..

If so, then thats bad...

I will get back to you later, i'll check if you can somehow re flash the bios.

Can you give me the exact model of the motherboard.

Yes it has the 3 pin jumper like in the first part of the manual and I did that to clear it last night didn't work. I don't fully understand the second part where it says there is a clear switch in back of the 0/I button. There is a reset button next to the 0/I button and the clear c moss pins are at the bottom right corner if your facing the the top side of the mobo

The reset switch on the Mobo is just a switch similar to one on the pc case, for reseting the computer, not the bios..

If theres no clear cmos switch on the I/O panel then, its a different version of the Mobo.

If you can, disassemble the Mobo from the case, remove the cmos battery,
Put the cmos jumper on 2 and 3,
Sleep...
Next day. Re assemble,
Place the cmos battery,
Put the cmos jumper to 1 and 2
Try to boot up..

Believe it or not, I replaced the button battery in my hard drive and it solved the problem...must have been dead!
