I'm running a Gigabyte B85-HD3 mobo, and am wondering if I should update the bios? I bought it in March this year and don't even remember what rev. version it is. I did check my bios version and it is FB 10/31/2013. Gigabyte's website calls it F9 and F10. So should I update it directly to F10 or not?

If you don't have any problems, I'd leave it. Does the update description provide any benefits?

Golden rule - - if your system is working okay, leave the BIOS alone. Updating simply because yours isn't up to date is definitely not a good reason to do it, same applies to drivers.

Yes, but they were really vauge. F9 is described to be 4th gen intel compatible while F10 description was that it had imrpoved Intel K-sku CPU.

You obviously don't need F9 update because your existing CPU is already compatible otherwise your system wouldn't boot.

You don't need F10 either unless your CPU has a 'K' suffix (eg Intel Core i7-4770K)
