I have an ASUS laptop model K52Jr, for the past few weeks it's taking ages to power up. The charger seems to be working and even battery, as if I leave it switched on it will work just fine. The problem is when I shut it down and try to power up it won't start and then after a couple of hours it will start on it's own .

I am using Windows 7 professional 64 bit with a RAM of 4 gb Windows experience is 5.1 and the lowest is the desktop performance for windows aero

Any help on this please?

Can you go to your bios, then enable safe load?

There might be a background application thats triggering the laptop to hibernate or fail to boot properly.

During post, press f2 or del to enter the bios

Then load fail safe defaults, save and exit.

Try this steps..

http://m.wikihow.com/Start-Windows-in-Safe-Mode

But, im concerned that you might not be able to follow the next step after booting in safe mode..

So, just boot in safe mode with networking then update windows and do a virus scan
