hi everyone, this is my first time posting here so please bear with me.

computer specs
cpu - amd a10-5800k trinity
mobo - gigabyte ga-f2a75m-hd2 rev.1 bi0s version - f2
video card - Nvidia Geforce gt 640
ram - kingston kvr1333d3n9/4g (2x4gb)
os - windows 7 64bit

the problem goes like this, bios detects 8gb of ram (2x4gb-mobo has dual memory slot only) but windows only shows 4gb.
it was working properly for more than a year now (shows 8gb ram). it was only about a week ago when i noticed that windows is only detecting 4gb ram.
CPU-Z shows that i have 8gb ram and says that have only a single channel memory, before the problem occured CPU-Z showed dualchannel memory.

i've already tried going to msconfig>boot>advance option and maximum memory is unchecked.
tried updating my bios but to no avail.
tried removing and installing my ram but it still shows 4gb on windows.

A little help will be much appreciated, thank you in advance.

Try a different set of RAM, odds are likely one is not doing so well. Loosing dual channel mode on a kit is the first sign of it reaching the end of its life.
