Hello,

I've got strange problem with my LAN to USB adapter.
Since I havent any ethernet connector in my HP netbook I bought USB network card (quite cheap thing - model: RD9700).

After succesfull instalation of drivers, new NIC appears in Control Panel, also Win7 says that it's ready to use - device manager also recognizes the device.

But when I plug in the ethernet cable (Working 100%, network in dormitory - without any restrictions),
the connection has the status of "Unrecognized network"
I've tried to ping Google DNS, turning off the system Firewall, also manual setting similar to my mate's (proper gate, network mask, IP from same range) - without any result.

What is more I've tried to gain Internet access via this adapter also on diffrent laptops as well - and situation is the same.

I would be very grateful for all sugestions and your help
Thanks in advance

Your netbook almost certainly has WiFi. To use ethernet connection turn WiFi off.
