comparing PS4 graphics to PC graphics on next gen games

I keep reading about the high level of VRAM required by a PC to run next gen games on ULTRA graphics such as Shadow of Mordor and The Evil Within (Both of which I plan on playing). I have a GTX 780 (3 GB VRAM) with the i7 4820K so it know I will play both games just fine but how will the PC graphics compare with the PS4? I have a strong suspicion that PS4 is not pushing ultra graphics, so playing on the PC at high or even medium high graphics should look better than the PS4, correct?

I think the PS4 can probably run most games on med-high.

Ultra is pushing it ... esp with AA turned on.

There are some more recent games with comparisons. I saw one with Mordor.

PS- I was getting like 50+ FPS using a 7970, so your 780 will be fine for Mordor.

Absolutely. The Ultra textures are completely bs unless you have a 4K monitor and at 1080p, you won't even be able to see the difference in Shadow of Mordor.
The Evil Within has very wierd system requirements even though it looks like a 2011/12 game, so don't worry, you'll max both of these games no problem.

I would have to agree with the Ultra textures not really making a difference.

I downloaded the 10gb file... not worth it. I honestly couldn't tell the difference between screenshots on 1080p.

True! The next gen wasn't so next gen after all! Even AC:Unity is going to be 900p 30fps on both the potatoes!
Glad to be a part of the master race!
