Hello, I need help upgrading my Vaio Laptop: VGN-240F. I purchased a Q9000 Intel Cpu as well as a SSHD 500GB. Component install was fairly simple and fast, however the monitor does not turn on. Upon further investigation, I've found instances where I may have to update the CPU code.? Just to note, in terms of experience, I'm fairly competent at building standard gaming rigs, but this is my first time working with a laptop to upgrade. Any ideas?

Did you make sure the Q9000 CPU was compatible wirh your laptop?

What CPU did you have before? You may need a BIOS upgrade.

I had a Intel Core 2 Duo T6600. In terms of compatibility, I didn't have any luck finding out. I primarily relied on the matching socket type to be honest. As for the BIOS, I searched for updates on Vaio and there seems to be no BIOS upgrade/update for my specific laptop.
