Hello,

I'm having MAJOR freezing issues with my GTX 760 card. It happens whenever the card needs to perform (so mostly in games). My screen goes black, my sound hangs for a while and it's followed by my display drivers crashing. Sometimes it freezes and my drivers don't crash, but I have to hard reset my computer.

At first I thought it was caused by my sound drivers (because my sound hangs which causes a strange mechanical sound), but this wasn't the case. I also ruled out other components by buying a new processor, motherboard and memory. None of this helped.

My current specs:
PC: i7 4790 @ 4GHz
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD3H
MSI GeForce GTX 760
16GB DDR3
256GB SSD x2
3TB HDD
Seasonic 520w PSU

I have not overclocked any of my components. The strange thing is, this freezing problem started when I updated to the driver after 377.88. It has happened with every new driver since then.

I have also tried to reinstall Windows, and even upgraded from W7 to W8.1, nothing helped.

Furthermore I have:
- Added a TdrDelay entry in my register
- Checked my RAM voltages / settings - no problems here
- Resetted my BIOS
- Changed the hertz frequency of my screens

Nothing helped. Does anyone know if these problems are caused by my graphics card, or by the drivers? I'm seriousy considering buying a new graphics card, cause I simply cannot do anything with my current one. If it's the drivers that are causing these issues, I'll go with AMD, if it's the card then I'll prolly get a GTX970.

Thank you in advance for help.

Kind regards,

Dan

Solution
Do you have a spare PSU or can borrow it from someone, I mean a bigger one, say 650W of a decent quality, brands like yours or XFX, then first try with the PSU, then think of an another GPU.
