Just wondering if i can safely use this card without the backplate as it will not fit in my case otherwise.
My options are to leave it off (it came supplied and i removed it) or to cut the plate down (has a massive extended handle on the rear.
Suggestions/knowledge helpful.
Cheers

You can take it off but it helps to support the cards PCB (GPU Board). I would cut it down to fit, but when doing so disconnect it from the card.

Fortunately i'm not daft enough to try that with it still connected but i will do as you say. It seems the best option. God knows why they need such a massive handle on the end anyway.

Cut it back today with my jigsaw. All tidy now, no issues.

Did a search and found a method. Don't get the PM thing as i'm not a very regular forum user.

1 and 2 are the cut board....just a square cut cos didn't want to complicate it and then tidied up with a file. Nothing fancy. 3 is the section i removed. :-D
