Working on my 10 year old HP Laptop when it locked up, had to kill the power to restart. Within 3 seconds on starting up, I can hear the hard drive clicking than receive the beautiful white message on black screen “No Boot Devise Found”. Can guess the hard drive is toast but can I get the data off easily? Do not care about programs (can reinstall) just need my documents and some pictures.

with the drive clicking you had a hard disk head crash..dont turn it on anymore to keep the heads for doing any more damage to the drive. your going to need to send the drive to a data recovery lab to get the data off now.
