Do you know if the computer even works?
Do you get any response or lights?
If you put a HD from a different system in it (that has the OS) odds are it will not boot as the OS has the drivers from the 'old' system' not the 'new'.

I c.

Not saying for sure it is that, but one motherboard can easily support it, and another wont.

To really troubleshoot any further you would have to wipe the drive and do a fresh install of windows for that computer.

^thats a good point, what motherboard/drive/pc make and model?

Also what exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to use a hdd that has windows already on it or are you trying to install windows onto a drive? Also does the bios report the correct drive? Also would the drive in question happen to be over 2tb?
