i've got a a gigabyte amd radeon hd 7770 graphics card for 3 or 4 months and now im thinking of plugging in one more lcd monitor. i have to go with 2 rather 3 monitors than because of the space on my desk.
Now my question is this:
The graphics card has the following available ports
1 x DVI, 1 x HDMI, 2 x Mini-DP.
my current monitor is connected to the DVI port. if I plug in one more monitor should i put both of the displays on mini-DP or will it be fine to connect them to different ports. will the display quality be same?
Secondly, im doing this for gaming, so i need to know if just plugging in 2 displays is going to provide that "widescreen gaming display" or do i have to do something else for eg. install new drivers or anything?
Thanks in advance.

The ports should display virtually the same. It is better not to use adapters - but cables meant for the monitor. If you look at prices, the least expensive monitors are usually DVI/VGA or HDMI/VGA. Since you are using the DVI on your current monitor, I would suggest using HDMI to the monitor.

Your current drives should allow you to display across 2 displays without issue.

it is fine connecting the monitor to different ports, just use the HDMI, save yourself buying two cables. (There is no difference between using the same ports and using two different ports)

Display quality will be the same

plugging in two screens will let you game on two if your graphics settings are correct.

What's the difference between adapter and cable?

Get a single larger monitor for games instead of two. If you go full screen with two monitors you will have a big gap right in the middle of the image where the bezels are. You want to be staring at a screen cut in half while playing a game?

Plus the 7770 while a good budget gaming card, will have issues running 2 and 3 monitors in quite a few of the newer games unless you drop settings to low.

Ok great I think 1 wider screen would be better than two. I'll save for some months and update the whole system rather than going now and be pissed at a lagging system.
Thanks a lot guys.
