Greetings!
I started to suffer graphic corruption issues two days ago. Everything started to distort and I had to restart quick (otherwise, the screen ended up going all grey-ish with a lot of ugly lines). After two restarts, everything was ok again until the day after. The same happened last night, and it got fixed after 2-3 restarts.
This morning, after doing a "system restore", update my GPU's drivers and scan for malware, I left a game running (Rome II) to check if indeed my GPU was getting toasted, or if it's just a matter of bad drivers. After 1-2 hours, my screen goes completely blue-ish with a lot of little lines after loading a map.
Now, every time I restart my PC, I'm greeted with a login screen full of black lines, like this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/56345445/thehorror.jpg
Once I log in, the screen goes completely blue or black, with perhaps a few artifacts here and there.
The graphics corruption appears only in normal mode, after loading Windows. There's not even a single artifact/issue in the BIOS screen, during Windows 7's load or in safe mode (I can use my PC without issues there).
I tried to uninstall/remove the GPU drivers in safe mode and then restart in normal mode. Everything fine, until Windows detects the card and makes me restart again. I do that... and blam, corruption in the login screen again.
Does it sound like bad drivers, or toasted GPU? Should I format my hard drive and reinstall Windows, or that wouldn't help at all?
I hope someone can share a few opinions and help
me a bit with this issue, specially since I use my computer to work at home. I'd be really thankful!
