Like the title says, i know nothing about RAM, but feel i would be better off with 16 gigs of non generic RAM, i would love some assistance on this matter.

Why do you think you need 16 GB? Also, to make a good decision we need to know your processor and motherboard.

Ok. I believe I need 16 gigs, because i was told it was sort of an ideal standard, not too overkill but not too little. (even though I'm using 1 1080p monitor, and occasionally an extra 720p monitor for netflix or others.)

On the side of the mobo, that will be http://www.amazon.com/PRO4-M-LGA1155-H77-CrossFireX-Mot... one of these badboys.

My processor is an intel core i5-3570(no K)

If any other info is required, please ask.

8 GB is the sweet spot today really, 16 GB is overkill except for people that use image/video editors.

If you still want to get 16 GB you should get 1600 MHz DDR3 memory for that motherboard/CPU combo, you can go to your local computer store or buy it online. If you want to buy it online tell me in which country you live and i might be able to help you.

ok, I wasw looking, and it wasn't as complicated as other parts, I think im going to order some of the most common and popular RAM on newegg, it should suffice, thanks for the advice on the 8 gigs being plenty, I've looked up what it exactly is, and where it's necessary, thanks sir.
