Hi There! i have an Intel Pentium 4 computer. on its system specs it says it is a 32 bit computer. i wanted to get some type of NAS on it. i have tried many different Linux distros and don't want to use any more lol. i have tried to get Amahi and FreeNas. neither of thses worked. my full computer specs are as listed:
-Intel pentium(r) 4 CXPU 3.00GHz
-2.00 GB
-32 Bit Operating System
-graphics card- standard VGA adapter

Thank you!

yes i just did again. i booted the cd up and it showed the words free nas and then started saying a bunch of command lines. after about 10 lines, it said BTX halted. and now its been doing nothing for 10 minutes.

Go into your BIOS and disable any devices you don't need (audio, serial ports, parallel ports, etc) and try again.

Is this an old Dell (or other OEM system) by the way?

i did and it still says the same thing. i also saw that it said,"cpu doesn't support long mode" and no. this is a custom built computer. it is about 20 years old.

Looks like an older Linux distro or the original version of Windows Home Server are your best options then.

The original version was 32-bit. The "current" version (no longer in production but still supported) is 64-bit only.

Sending you a PM. Stand by.
