Rig:
Asus rampage IV black
64 gb corsair 2133
4960x
3x evga 780 (3gb) in tri SLI
Can't crack 100fps in tf2 (on mild settings.) Tried it with sli disabled as well, no change.
My 6600 and gtx650 don't dip below 100fps on almost maxed settings in the same game.
I'm using this game as my example because it's fairly optimized and running poorly. My questions are as follows:
1. What is the best tri sli driver for 780's?
2. Is there a hardware incompatibility?
3. Where do I begin trying to sort this out?
Thanks in advance!

I've tried dual as well, no dice. I agree also, a tad overkill for tf2....the driving force here is planetside 2. That's what I really want to run well. As of right now, it runs about as good as it did on my old rig (previously mentioned).
The weird thing is that with this setup I should be able to peg all the settings on TF2 and have it run butter smooth....makes no sense. Could it be a hardware issue? I'm using an LG 27MP65HQ monitor..could that be it?

That is odd. I get like multiple hundreds in tf2 at 1440p with sli 970`s. thats because its 4k, and your gpu are heavily being used. TF2 on 1080p can be maxed with 1 GPU, thats why your fps is low, your gpus are not being used heavily enough. thus TF2 at 1080P is not optimized for sli because you dont need SLI for it, 1 gpu can max it out.

Ah so 1440p has it push the GPU more ?

Then why do I experience the same poor performance with only one 780? In fact, it doesn't really matter at all, single, dual or tri all run horribly.....what gives?

I know JayzTwoCents had a similar issue recently with his tri-sli 780 setup. Do you have the same issues in other games?

Do you have everything on the highest option? also if you have anti aliasing on the highest, dont keep it on the highest, cuz it uses a lot of the video memory, and thats also the cause of low FPS.

Hmm.....can we not read the OP? Perhaps you should......here...I'll just copy and paste it down here for you.
"Can't crack 100fps in tf2 (on mild settings.) Tried it with sli disabled as well, no change."
So captain observaticious, what say ye? To specifically answer your question (even though I'll probably have to write this again later
) I have AA off.....and still can't crack 100 fps. Just to test I lowered all the settings.....still runs like crap. What extra info do we need, I'll do whatever/fiddle with whatever to get somewhere on this and sarcasm aside, thanks for the help man.-

Double checked that PCIE lanes were being recognized, 2 were not. Physically disabled lanes 2 and 3 via MOBO switches and re-imaged....problem was most likely corrupted drivers.
After re-imaging everything is back to normal. 75-200 FPS in PS2 on ULtra, TF2 200-300 FPS.
Have no idea what caused it but that's how I fixed it.
