Since my previous thread is market Solved, I am creating a new thread.

I have a computer which is setup as RAID5 which I want to disable RAID and have the 4 drives be individually mapped.

So I went into RAID setup and disabled RAID which turned out to be a big mistake. Turns out my computer (Dell T310) came with something called a PERC6i controller which makes non-RAID not possible.

So I tried going back to RAID and reenabled RAID but it seems it was too late as when I tried reinstalling the Operating System the computer is asking for drivers. After disabling RAID it apparently disabled the hard drives.

Now I have no idea what to do next. I would be happy just having it be a RAID setup just so I can get my computer working again. Can anyone give me some help? Thank you.

Here is the original thread with the gory details:

Your system needs raid drivers installed during setup. There's a point during setup where it asks if you want to install additional drivers, and you tell it yes, and install the Perc Raid drivers(available from Dell's website).

Your hard disks are attached to the PERC6i. You should be able to create individual volumes from all the drives.

You didn't say which OS you are using. The OS you are using will impact the need for additional drivers during the instal.

The drivers necessary for Server 2008 should be included in the base OS. There are some youtube videos on installing an OS on a T310. I don't know if they are useful.
