It has been approximately 5 years since my last build and this is my normal cycle to update my system. On my last build I tried to buy components that I could add on to, or upgrade, so I wouldn't have to start from scratch. The machine is exclusively for gaming purposes.

My main questions about this are

1) Will a cooler upgrade and moderate overclock of the 2500k still cause a bottle neck at my processor?

2) Is a single GTX 980 sufficient to run on the new Asus monitor maxed?

3) In general is there anything that you see that need to be changed?

4) As stated in the post do I have to scrap and start over?

I have intermediate computer knowledge and appreciate any advice you may be able to provide.

If you won't upgrade this system for another 5 years, I think 16 gb would be a wise move.

If you oc your cpu you should be able to handle the gtx 980 (No bottlenecking), after an OC you'll have similar scores to the i5 4690k.

The 980 can run the ROG Swift at a breeze, bf4 on ultra x4 AA well over 60 fps.
