A few weeks ago I noticed my internet on my laptop was randomly crashing for a few seconds at a time - usually just enough to crash my IRC, which you can imagine would be annoying. After some testing, I determined that the issue lied with my wireless router, a D-Link DIR-826L. When I connected my laptop directly to the router with a cable, the problem still existed, but when I plugged it into the modem directly, the problem disappeared. Thus I discovered the troublesome middleman, but wasn't really sure how to fix it.

After switching back to using the router today (since I live with someone, I can't hog the only modem port all the time) I finally noticed a pattern - they were happening every 30 minutes since I had plugged it back in. Since I had more info now than "random internet outages", which I had looked for info on but never really found anything of use, I googled it and managed to find someone with the same issue on this very site, with the same model of router. Seems this person had an issue with a "rogue computer on the network" or something...but this happens even when my computer is the only one on the network (when other computers are plugged in but shut down) and since this issue doesn't exist when I put this same computer directly to the modem I'm not really sure what to make of that.

For a final bit of info before I post this, I logged into the router itself and found this in the logs. I'm sure it reveals something important, but my google-fu was too weak so I don't know what to make of it on my own. Maybe someone here can assist?

Thanks! If you need additional info on anything, just ask

Any idea what "resolv.conf" is, at least? I feel that that's the solution to my problems for some reason, but nothing I search seems to give me an answer that I can comprehend.
