I am fully connected to the internet and I am unable to access the internet via browsers or any other means.
Other devices in the house work fine and can access the net without issue.

I tried renewing the IP from command prompt

checking the LAN settings as well as the DNS settings. all are set to auto detect. I tried unchecking the auto detects and restarting. Still no access.

I'm not sure what else to look at and I am tired of wading through the LAN setting posts.

Any ideas?

Virus? Malware? Is there a prankster in your family who has locked you out with a rule at the router?

No to the prankster. I have had issues with malware and virus when my son got on as the admin (my fault) and downloaded some stuff for Minecraft a little while back. I removed all of it and everything seemed fine.
I restored back a week to when I knew it was working last as well.

Did you just now do that restore, or is that what you did in the prior case?
You might try sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt.
What IP address do you have? If it is a 169.254.xx.xx, you aren't getting an IP from your router. Are you connected by a cable or wireless? If the former, the cable might be bad. If the latter, wireless radios fail, especially cheap ones.

I scanned and found about 12 virus and Malware. I cleaned them up and it was still an issue so I re-installed the OS. That resolved it. Thanks for the ideas.
I think it was an 169 ip and I was connected by wire.

If you were getting a 169.254 IP, that's your adapter's autoconfigure address, which meant it was not seeing the router. Since reloading your OS fixed it, presumably the virus did it to you.
