how do i transfer my data to a new hard drive including my OS

i jsut upgraded to a 1TB SSD from a 7200 1TB hdd

i was wondering how i can transfer all my files with the OS http://www.ebay.com/usr/samsungwhite
i dont want to buy a new OS

you can clone the drive (make an exact copy) with a program like macrium reflect (free) or acronis true image (free version).your ssd likely comes with free software to do this as well.

I just upgrade my daughters Laptop and other daughters Desktop to SSD's use Macrim Reflect (though they Samsung.. SSD's and so came with software to do it.. I like reflect). Worked flawlessly

If the SSD doesn't come with software, the manufacturers will have it for free on their web sight.

Samsung and Intel come with free tailored versions of clone utilities that only work with their drives.
I have used both, and the process is easy.
