Does the MSI GTX 970 gaming use the reference pcb?

Solution

Head on over to the OCN 970 Owners Club. It's a great place to ask questions and discuss the cards.

Not every Micro Center employee knows what they're talking about. The MSI Gaming uses a custom PCB with a 6 + 2 phase design (3 + 1 phase with doubled chokes speculated with the buck controller).

No, the MSI Gaming 970 does not use the reference PCB. I've heard from OCN that they may make a block for it, but I haven't seen one yet.

Do you know if anyone does?

Awesome! I know I love mine, glad to see you like yours, too.

Hopefully they release the waterblock soon. It should make this card even better.
