Hi, I wanted to Overclock a Intel Pentium G3258 using a Noctua NH-D14 to maybe 4.5 or 4.7ghz at a stable temperature. All help is greatly appreciated.

(Is a Asus Z97M Plus Micro ATX a good board for overclocking)

You don`t need that expensive Cooler. G3258 is a good overclocking chip even using the stock cooler. Don`t waste your money and save it for getting a better CPU.

i agree. that noctua nhd14 costs the same as the g3258. if you combined the price of a g3258 and a nhd14, you could add a little more cash in and buy an i5. just get a $16 cooler master tx3 and squeeze as much out of the g3258 as you can.

otherwise, yes, the nhd14 is a great cpu cooler, but depending on price and case room, the phanteks ph-tc14 is a slighly better cooler and usually costs the same as the noc.
