I have just built a new computer and when I tried to open up the BIOS, from boot up, the screen goes black and my keyboard shuts off.

Apart from this the computer runs fine but the fan revs up to about 5000rpm even when the CPU is not hot and I need to get into the BIOS to maybe set the speed of the fan.

Specs:
Motherboard: GIGABYTE 990FXA-UD3
CPU: AMD FX8350 Black Edition
CPU Cooler: Stock
RAM: 8GB
Windows 7 64 bit

Any help on this would be great thanks.

Try a cmos reset.

If you have a dual bios mobo, switch to the other bios.

If this doesn't work, RMA the mobo.

Do you have thermal paste and is it properly installed between the CPU and heat sink?

Having the same issues with the BIOS not wanting to load!
http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2323430/gigabyte...

Its a new system as follows:
GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 Rev.4
AMD FX-8350 Black Edition @4Ghz
CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i CPU Cooler
CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB @1866
SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X R9 290
CORSAIR 850W PSU
2 x SSDs / 2 x HDDs / 1 x BD Player

I have a ticket in with Gigabyte and im waiting for a response.

Ive tried Flashing the BIOS, Updating it with @BIOS to F2, tried a DVI instead of a HDMI, and removed all HDDs and disk drives. BUT nothign seems to work on getting the BIOS open!

Also directed toward the CPU, its NOT overheating its just a high RPM on the fan?
