I am building a new computer and I was wondering if I needed a sound card or if my Motherboard was sufficient enough without one.

The Motherboard I plan on buying is the Asus H81M-D PLUS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard.

More about : sound card

Not required. Onboard audio is good enough for gaming.

To be honest all motherboards are fine without sound cards. The high end sound cards are over priced speakers that you can't even hear very well due to the case. I am currently using a 74 dollar motherboard with NO sound card and when I plug speakers, or headphones in, I wouldn't even be able to tell the difference. Of course this is just my opinion but others may think or reply differently.
*Fun fact, All or 99.9% of all high end gaming PC's that you can buy built, does NOT have a sound card in it no matter how expensive.
