Hope someone can help me out with an issue I'm having. I have a GTX 770 (I think it's PNY). Over the past couple of weeks at various times my computer just gets a black screen (it can be simply browsing the web or the computer idling) where the computer either freezes or reboots . Then most times I get no video. If I plug the monitor into the on board GPU it will work and the computer runs stable. After a bit of time I can plug the monitor back into the 770, restart, and it works fine.

The interesting thing is that I can typically play games for hours with no issues at all. It's a confusing issue, so I'm not sure if there's something wrong with the PSU or the GPU. Nothing on my system is OC'd and I've had this PSU (650 Watts, btw) for years and the GPU for a few months.

Thanks.

I'm running into the same issue... Old 650 wat PSU, new GPU.. black screen. From what I can tell, and what my next step is.. is to get a newer PSU. My old PSU has 19A on +12v rail.. where the newer ones are up around 40 I believe. Also, I'm not 100% sure my 6+2 pin actually has 150W output. I can't find that info exactly.. but I read that some of the older PSU's were meant for 75W output only. My card requires both an 8-pin 150W and a 6pin 75W aux power. I'm doubting I'm getting that much power to my GPU. Anyway, here goes another $120... I'm looking at this PSU:
