I don't see any reason the PSU wouldn't. The HP uses a standard ATX PSU.

The gfx card is possibly a little more problematic. If that wasn't an HP, I'd say, no prob. But HP has been known to 'lock' their MB BIOS to prevent users from installing too big of a card for the system's stock PSU (and to get you to buy the cards they sell). It might not recognize the card. Ask around the HP forum to see how others have done.

Clutchc has it exactly right , The PSU is fine , but a lot of the newer cards don't run on prebuilts.

Even some of the low power draw cards like the 750ti won't run also.

You need to disable secure boot and enable legacy mode in the motherboard's BIOS. Preferably, you should get a graphics card that has a UEFI ready video BIOS.

Yes, by talking to others that are in your situation. The HP forum would be a good start to finding folks like that.

Sorry we can't be more specific. But this forum (and others) is filled with HP desktop owners that can't get their retail card to work in their machine. It is a common thread. Some get theirs to work, some don't. It appears to be an HP-specific issue.
Here's a related thread that may help: https://www.sapphireforum.com/showthread.php?32410-Help...

No. It's legacy BIOS.

UEFI BIOS supports Secure Boot. Graphics cards that have a UEFI BIOS will say so in their marketing material. An example of such a card (i.e. you shouldn't need to disable Secure Boot in the motherboard's BIOS when using this card.):
