I built this around 2010 with computer parts that I found through Garbage and For really cheap prices. Like the Video Card was $10 in a garage sale.

The most effective thing to upgrade for modern PC games would be the CPU because then you could at least get lower settings with good frame rates. That might require a new motherboard.

There is no real way to bring that gear up to a decent standard. AM2, DDR ram.

Operating System: No.
Actually, Your OS is fine. There's no point in upgrading from Windows 7 Ultimate, as you get all the features of Windows 7 and more. No need for an Upgrade here.

CPU and Motherboard: Yes.
That's a really old CPU. It won't work for gaming at all, As well as the Motherboard. You're gonna have to replace Both the Motherboard and CPU.

RAM: Yes.
3GB of RAM Is NOT Good enough. and the Mhz is not good either. You need at least 4GB of RAM with a 1600-1866 Mhz, and a CAS Latency of 10 or less to play games. However, 8GB of RAM is your best bet for Gaming.

GPU (Graphics card): Yes.
A Radeon 5700 won't run any of the newer games at this point. It will probably only run older games. If you're going for a AMD card, get a R7 260X or higher. If going with a Nvidia card, get the GTX 750 or higher.

Storage: Yes.
Both Hard drives add up to 260GB of space. That's not much, considering you can get a 1TB Hard drive for as cheap as $50. However, If your OS is installed in one of the drives, Keep that drive so that you have Windows 7 Ultimate for later.

Optical Drive: Optional.
If you need an optical drive to use programs or play certain games, By all means, get a new one.

Audio: No.
No point in upgrading your Audio, since I think it's built into the motherboard.

So In conclusion:

Parts that need to be upgraded:
- CPU
- Motherboard
- RAM
- Hard Drive
- Graphics card

Parts that don't need upgrading:
- Operating system
- Audio

Parts that are optional to upgrade:
-Optical Drive.

Hope this helps.
