My Computer freezes ramdomly on POST screen, in BIOS menu and on all Operating Systems I have installed (Vista, Fedora 16, Ubuntu), keyboard and mouse are unresponsive and I can't do anything except reset computer.
When I am using a OS it freezes randomly on the current screen or on a previous screen. Sometimes
it restart automatically and if computer is playing a song the last word is repeated to infinity.
Sometimes it gives BSODs.
I tested hard disk with S.M.A.R.T. test and I tested sectors and no problems were found on it.
I lauched Memtest86+ from GRUB and first times no errors were found, but last time it found many errors.
Memtest86+ website says that if errors on Memtest are found the problem could be caused not only by RAM, but also by memory controller, cache, a cache controller, algorithmic and logic units, etc.
I forgot to tell that even Memtest86+ freezed.
Memtest's website suggest to check if RAM timings are ok on BIOS, but in my BIOS I can't find such menu even pressing CTRL+F1 like someone told me. I think my BIOS doesn't have these options.
Now what is the best thing to do?
Testing memory modules one by one?
Thank in advance to all.

How many RAM sticks do you have? If you only have 2, try installing them into the other 2 slots. If you have 4, try installing only 2 and then the other 2. Then try to get your hands on another computer that is compatible with your RAM and testing your sticks on that. If everything points to the RAM sticks working, you might have a problem with the DIMM slots on your motherboard or another problem entirely.

Hi Richard Ricardo,
thank you for your answer!!!
I have 4 sticks: 2 are of 512 MB and the other ones are of 1 GB.
I'll try to do this and I will let you know as soon as possible!!!
Yours sincerely,
Rocco
