MSI Afterburner unofficial overclocking limit help.

I used afterburner to OC r9 270 with core clock of 1150 MHz(it allows upto 1270 Mhz) and memory clock of 1600 Mhz(It allows upto 1820Mhz). I ran 3DMark 11 and I got a blue screen at GT2 on my 1st try. It is not a BOD. It is a blue screen with stripes. I had to restart. I tried again with the same setting but I again got a blue screen but this time at GT3. So anyone knows about this blue screen with stripes? or Is this blue screen inevitable if you OC beyond official limits?
I haven't tested any games on this settings yet.

Anything beyond 1100Mhz and 3DMark crashes. Haven't tried in games though. Currently Running at CC- 1.1GHz and EMC- 6 GHz. This settings gave me a 6fps boost over default in Metro Last Light. Would benchmark other games too and see how much boost I got.

I used their benchmarking tool instead of going in game. As different level has FPS.
Avg with stock was 32fps after OC it went upto 38 fps.
