First of all I know the site is being flooded with posts similar to mine but please bear with me.I am looking to buy a GTX 970 and I wanted to know if there is a difference between the MSI Twin Frozr V model and the Zotac Amp Omega. Currently in the UK the MSI retails for £280 and the Zotac goes for £299. However the MSI is out of stock and every electronics shop in the country doesn't seem to have a clue when the cards will arrive. It might be a matter of 2-3 days however it might be more. The Zotac is in stock but I'm worried for the lack of refinement and brand name. What is the best way to go at it?

Either way is good man. Branding is just about marketing and all those stuff. Zotac has a good credibility when it comes to GPU. Just make sure you have a warranty and you will be OK.

Performance wise, there is no significant difference between brands.

Well, so far I witnessed many people in the community bragging about their 970 having problem, and mainly MSI,ASUS,EVGA and Gigabyte.
I don`t know but those manufacturers have a good credibility in the market, Yes there will be issues but you have your warranty with you and you can simply ask for replacement if they give you a damage card.

Personally, I`m using the MSI GTX 970 4G, so far so good.

So it wouldn't be worth it to buy a GTX 770 for example which has been tested thoroughly?

The answer is not concrete for it depends on your satisfaction (man by nature does not get satisfied) if you are planning to play at 1080p resolution then a GTX 770 is more than enough. Yes 770 is still decent but considering the price of 770 and 970 are close to each other then the wise choice will be getting the 970.

Do you believe the GTX 770 is enough for the following 1-2 years? I play mainly big release titles (Middle Earth Shadow of Mordo,Need For Speed Franchise,AC,Far Cry,Batman,Ryse Son of Rome etc) in 1080p.

Enough in a way that you can still play those games in the future but expect that you will be needing to adjust your in-game settings in order to boost gaming performance. You cannot expect to run those games in ultra settings and maxed out FSAA, HBAO+, etc.

Especially AC, my rig is choking in this game ever since, but I think the shadow of Mordor was made by ubisoft right? The gameplay of SOM is quite similar to the AC.

Shadow of Mordor is made by Warner Bros and Monolith, it's more like the Batman franchise in terms of gameplay and controls, however they said that they're going to release an ultra textures pack for more high end GPU's. Would you mind telling me your rig specs? And which AC game are you referring to?

A10-7850k OC`ed to 4.3Ghz
R9 Gaming series 2400Mhz RAM
MSI GTX 970 4G (Previously I used HD 7970)

Well I guess that is all you need to know. I did not play the shadow of Mordor yet but I saw some videos of its gameplay and I think it`s somehow similar to AC.

I play AC IV Black flag and if I max all the settings, I cannot get 60 solid FPS which drops into 30`s which I don`t like. (I used GPU stock) I adjust some settings and mid or high and I can play at 60FPS.

Also if I wanted to max all the settings, I overclocked my GPU.

I previously play the AC4 with my HD 7970 in stable 60 FPS with adjusting some settings, but I cannot stop the urge of buying this GTX 970. :)

Yeah I know the feeling :)  So with the GTX 970 do you play AC Black Flag and can't get 60 FPS at Max Settings?

2X FSAA, HBAO(low), Volumetric fog = off
This are the things which are not maxed out. (stock 970)

It`s great gaming experience though. Hehe in real world this setting is already superb and I think any lower than this is also great. This is too much already.

Yeah I can imagine. I have an i5-3570K hopefully I might be able to push a bit harder if my 970 ever arrives :)
Thanks anyway for all the support. Keep gaming :)
