Hey guys, graphic cards in Australia are to expensive. 1 GTX 980 already goes up to $800. Are there any websites that are 100% legit that would ship to Australia?

Thanks

Understandable, however most places will charge a fortune for shipping. I'd just grab the Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming for $519 which will only lack the GTX 980 by +/- 10%, far better value.

Yeah, i'm doing alot of research before my purchase. I am about to get 2 GTX 970 SLI, which is 1k for me, but then i realised, this is the price of 2 GTX 980s in America, so i am wondering if it was possible, but i guess not.

I just don't know if i should go for GTX 980 or GTX 970.

I was planning on buying 2 GTX 970, but if i just bought 1 GTX 970 and in a game, i get like 30 fps and i decide to SLI, by how many FPS will that improve by?

I'd just get the GTX 970 and SLI it later, no shame in going either routes. SLI scaling is roughly 85-90% increase in performance, it's a solid investment. FPS from 30 would be around 50-55.

Do you think 1 GTX 970 is good enough for now? like would it be smooth for gaming and later on when the GTX 970 price decrease, such as new graphic cards come out, etc christmas. i will grab the second, but if it does not. I would just buy 2 Straight up. I have 1.5k cash to use.

easily, One GTX 970 is plenty enough (if 1920x1080 res). I would wait for MSY technology to have them more in stock and check out their prices. I'd wait for the prices to be far more respectable, one thing I hate is buying a card when it first comes out and is very expensive, next few weeks the price is $150 less. My Story - Bought the Gigabyte Windforce R9 290X when it first came out, spent $775 on it, next two weeks was $625.

Thanks, i think i will just buy the GTX 970, it sucks that they don't have the reference cooler like the GTX 980, that would of been great for SLI. I guess they want people to buy the GTX 980 instead of SLI to beat the GTX 980.

Wow thats pretty good. What other things increase if you SLI. I know it increases the FPS but i never knew what other things it does.

Like does it double the specifications, Ram, clock speed 7ghz to 14ghz?

on paper, yes. Clock/memory speed stays the same. It just uses two cards as one simply.

How long do you think a single GTX 980 will last on max settings and still play smooth?

I can't predict the future but possibly 2 years. GTX 970 SLI However longer, much longer.

Its just that i think if it can last for a long time, there no point going in SLI because by than, the GTX 980 price should of dropped down by a lot or even more cheaper than the current GTX 970 price at the moment, and i can save some bucks going for the GTX 980 and even save more bucks when its time to SLI. But thats only if the graphic card can last for a while.

This is a hard decision for me to choose. I also am probably just going to be using a single 1080P monitor. I am just wondering if you can see a difference between 2 SLI 970 and GTX 980. If they run the same, or nothing is noticeable, i don't find a reason to SLI. But thats up to you, to change my mind.

"difference between 2 SLI 970 and GTX 980"

Not now you won't see a difference when using a 60Hz monitor.

Later on, defiantly.

Your choice. For Gaming, I would get 3, that is the best experience!
