It does fit, but you need to cut a small notch out of the case approx. 2 inch square with a junior hacksaw. I know this because I have a Gigabyte G1 GTX 970 sitting in my Zalman Z9 case right now

Can you post a pic of the mod?
I'm in the same situation, I have a gigabyte gtx 770 which is 292mm and there are 10mm left from the chassis of my z9 plus, so i will have to cut 10mm of the drive cage?
