hi.
im looking to upgrade my set up soon, & came across this motherboard Gigabyte H81 S2PH & i5 4460 cpu.
does anyone know if its advisable for me to use the G-Skill Trident X 2400 2x4gig DDR3 ram on this board?
theres also the Sniper 2133, 1866, & 1600...
or the Ares 2133, 1866, 1600.
all are 2x4Gig sticks and in the same price range. as theres a sale at the moment.
so which is bast advisable for me to use?
Thanks

I don't see an issue wit that board and ram. I'd get the Trident-X 1866Mhz kit just as 2400Mhz for Haswell has no real benefit. The motherboard doesn't have to support the ram speed, the CPU does.

NOTE: All speeds above 1600Mhz are just 1600Mhz modules given pre-overclocks and priced higher. Just but a 1600Mhz module and overclock it yourself.

ok so if it should support it then ill take the trident x 2400 as theses shops dont carry anything below for the trident x...
they just have the range on the sniper & ares....

now this is another question i have. the standard cpu fan that comes with the i5? or a deepcool gamma archer 120mm fan?

you asking to replace the CPU fan? Just buy a new CPU cooler, that fan is way too big to fit.
