Hey guys I just bought a R9 280x twin frozr from Amazon. I installed it and what a pain in the ass switching from nvidias to this.

But my problem is no matter what game I play, as soon as it hits 70 degrees it crashes my computer. Every single time. Im racking my brain here.

My specs:
-Antec 1200v2 case with 7 fans blowing in from the front out through the back.
-Asus p8z77vle mother board
-Intel i5-3570k
-Corsair ax750 psi
-16 gigs of corsair vengence 1600 ram
-western digital black 1tb hd
-windows 7 64 bit professional

And I had a evga gtx 560 with no issues. I just wanted to upgrade to the 280x and I feel like I'm screwed now.

Any help would be great!!!

Thanks guys :)

Firstly. 70C is not hot for a graphics card.

Second. Notice any other pattern?

None. Literally tried six games, archage was the worst. Literally went to 70 degrees in character loading screen then crashed.

I'm questioning since this was a used card from Amazon whether the thermal compound is bad.

But the rest of my system is fine. It's only in games I have issues.

Like I said 70C is not something to worry about, so it won't be the thermal paste, but if the previous owner abused the card, then its possible that he damaged something.

is it still under warranty?

"Hey guys I just bought a R9 280x twin frozr from Amazon."

Amazon will let you return the card if it is defective on arrival, RMA it.

I wasn't referring to your post, I haven't seen the used part yet.
