After a bit of research I've decided to go with Intel after nearly getting an AMD.

This is the build I've come up with, I wanted to keep it around $1000

I'm putting it out there, if you can see anything which I can improve on (eg. the graphics card) if its around the same price that would be awesome
The computer I'll be using for minimal gaming although as a graphic designer I'll be using the adobe suite (so big programs with big files)

Seems OK

For a $1000aud build, I wouldn't put in a SSD. Get an i5 4690 instead.

Get an Antec HCG 520M PSU instead - save $20.

I don't like XFX. I'd rather MSI for the R9 270X.

Why didn't you use the build I gave? It has everything to a good build.

The Antec one I listed is made by SeaSonic and is cheaper.

I can understand about the case and don't blame you buddy.

You can stay with tha PSU if you want to.

I would go back with the XFX graphics card instead of Asus when it is an AMD GPU.

But you don't have to pay extra $200 for an i5. It doesn't have hyperthreading anyways. I would stay with the i3.

Have you seen the Storm Scout 2 Advanced? You may like it.

Will you overclock? If yes you will require a CPU cooler. If no then get an i5-4690 with a H97 instead.

I think I'll stay with it

Are you saying the XFX would be better? I don't really understand

Yeah I have, I've shopped around for cases and the one I've picked was really good for the price

No I won't so would I5 wlork better? also I'm going to be using design programs a lot and have been told that the more cores the better for crunching information like that?

Well when buying AMD graphics cards, Sapphire is my first preference, second is XFX, third is Gigabyte and probably the rest are the same IMO.

Yes i5 has 4 cores. But when editing, you will want to look into threads too. And the i3, i7 and Xeon CPU offers hyper threading. A Xeon CPU will cost similar to a i5 however Xeon doesn't have integrated GPU though.

But if you PREFER the i5 then get it. But you wouldn't need the unlocked version (the unlocked version has a "K" at the end). So get the i5-4690 instead and stay with the same H97 motherboard and no aftermarket CPU cooler is needed.

P.S. Feel free to PM me if you require extra help.
