So earlier today I went out and bought a Corsair H60 and installed it about 1 hour ago, my CPU (Intel 4770k clocked at 3.50Ghz) temperatures are looking a little high. I watch my CPU temps using the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility program and the temps are:

Idle: 33 to 40 degrees Celsius
Load (Using the stress test on the extreme tuning software): 74 - 82 degrees Celsius

I'm not too sure what temperature is good for water cooling since this is my first time installing one so I could have f**ked up.

Full specs:
PC SPECS:
OS: Windows 7 Professional (64 Bit)
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K
RAM: Kingston 24GB 1600MHz (3 x 8GB)
GPU: EVGA NVidia GeForce GTX 780 SC ACX (Probably gonna get a second one soon)
MOBO: Gigabyte Z87X-HD3
PSU: Hytec 950 Watt
HDD: 1x Seagate 2TB & 1x Seagate 700gb
SSD: Kingston 256GB
COOLING: Corsair H60
CASE: In-Win Mana 136

What did you use for the thermal paste? Some, like Arctic Silver 5, take up to 200 hours to 'cure' for maximum effect.

Thermal paste takes some time to settle down, usually a couple days which can extend to a week. The temps are warm but absolutely fine. What is the ambient temp?

I just used the paste that came with it, I didn't really think that I would need anything else.

I'm not too sure what the ambient temp is, If I was to take a guess I'd say that inside the system is about 27 whereas my room temp is around 23-26.

What temps was it at before you got the H60?

A 'good' idle temp would depend on ambient air conditions.

I'm using an NZXT Kraken X40 140mm liquid cooler with Gelid paste and my i5-3570k idles at 35-40 degrees because its so darn warm and humid where I live.

Ambient temp is the room temp, the CPU temps are fine, and the thermal paste needs a couple of days to start giving best results, you're fine right now too.

Thanks, I know what an ambient temp is, I was just saying that I didn't know what the actual temperature was. :)

Using the stock intel cooler it was around 40 Idle and 90 Load.
