Hi,
I'm looking into upgrading my current PC as I feel it's about time. I use my PC for gaming, video editing and rendering. This is my current build.

CPU: Intel i3 4130
Graphics Card: EVGA Gtx 760 SC Edition
Memory: (1x4gb) Ram
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H81M-DS2 (rev 2.0)
PSU: Cougar CMX700

I was thinking of upgrading my pc to something like this

CPU: Intel i7 4790
Graphics Card: EVGA Gtx 760 SC Edition
Memory: (2x4gb) G.Skill Sniper
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H81M-DS2 (rev 2.0)
PSU: Cougar CMX700

Will this give my PC a decent boost? Will I run games much higher then I already can? If you have any recommendations please let me know.
Thanks!

Well then the i7+8Gb of Ram should be a good upgrade since the 760 is still a good card.

Just make sure to update your Bios on your motherboard.

If you want to upgrade the proc:
Since you pick i7 4790 and already have GTX760.
How about E3-1231V3.
E3-1231V3 about == i5 4690k in term of price.
E3-1231V3 == i7 4790 - iGPU - a couple MHz...the MHz difference, which you can not really notice in real live.

Another good upgrade would be a GTX970.

My opinions:
Most games tend to rely more on the GPU than on the proc and an i5 should be already enough for most games today.
Upgrading the GPU should be more effective on games than upgrading your i3.
8GB RAM is also enough for most games today.
I would say, either upgrade the proc+GPU at the same time or simply upgrade only the GPU, forgaming only.
The XEON could be a nice addition to your editing stuffs tho'. :)
