To elaborate on the above a bit...

On hitting my power on all the fans kick in and everything starts to boot, then after about 2-3 seconds the PC will power off entirely, then power itself up again (without my needing to hit power on), and off again, then on. Typically it will shut itself off around 2-3 times before booting to an error page. Initially I was getting "overclocking failed, press F1 to enter setup." Although I have never tried to overclock my system.... so this seemed strange to me. Anyhow I went into the bios and reset defaults hoping this would help. That seemed to help, although the next day the same thing occurred and this time my error message read "CPU fan error, press F1 for setup". Trying again to trouble shoot on my own, I figured the system was confused by my CPU fans slow idle speed because the aftermarket cooler keeps the chip so nice and cool. So I adjusted my bios to ignore the low idle of my CPU fan. No more fan error..... back to the "overclocking failed" error when my system is not overclocked. I give up, i'm stumped.

One more tidbit, after my machine ghost starts off/on a few times and I get one of the two error messages. If I simply hit "F1, enter, enter" and jump into the bios then dismiss changes and boot, windows will load normally and the PC functions flawlessly. I would just really prefer not to have it boot like it's possessed.

Thanks in advance for reading.

I'm thinking it's your bios. It sounds like what happens when you install a new bios.
