First of all hi and thank you for reading this.
I am having random driver crashes on my system(browsing the web, playing games, watching videos). I can run heavy game like Watch Dogs on Ultra/high for hours and everything is smooth and without crashes. But my drivers crash every 10-15 mins while playing Shadow of Mordor.
"Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." -from Event Viewer.
Specs:
Spoiler

MoBo: Asus Maximus Hero VII
CPU: Intel i7-4790 @3.60Ghz
GPU: Asus GTX770 DirectCU II OC 2GD5
PSU: Corsair RM 650w
RAM: Kingston HyperX 1600Mhz, 8GB(2x4)
OS: Windows 8.1 x64 -Updated: 8.10.2014(today)

Notes:
Spoiler

-I have tried uninstalling driver using DDU and installing every 34x.xx and 33x.xx driver. Didn't work.
-Ran scans with various AV software and anti-malware software. Picked up nothing.
-Ran memtest86. Pass.
-Ran various stress tests(Heaven, Furmark...). No problems whatsoever.
-Tried to downclock/underclock by 100units using MSI afterburner and Asus GPU tweak. Driver crash still ocurs.
-I have manually downloaded every driver for my MoBo from Asus site because I don't have CD/DVD ROM.
-I was using Win7 before and was getting a lot of BSoDs caused by nvlddmkm.sys.
-Installed Windows 8.1 (fresh install) and BSoDs are gone, but driver still fails.
-I have Dx, c++, .net installed.
-PC boots much longer with Nvidia drvers than without them. ~30sec vs ~15sec (at one time i was getting black screens every few mins, so i was forced to use my PC without GPU drivers)
-Saw artifacts on couple occasions.
-I have latest Bios update for motherboard.

Also, I was wondering if it's possible that a piece of software can cause drivers to crash? (I'm not very well read on software). For example: VLC player, Chrome, Shadow of Mordor.

Any input is appreciated.
Thank you.

Sounds like it may be the game or the game conflicting with the drivers, make sure you have the latest nVidia GPU drivers 327.23
